Afro Americans claim it—Irish claim it and the Northern English clog dancers claim it but whichever one chooses to believe, Tap is as popular today as it ever was. Evergreen shows like 42nd. Street and Crazy for You, and the more recent Tap Dogs and Stomp highlight the great diversity of style and music in tapping.
